Long Weekend Plans // Sponsor Spotlight [+ phoneography giveaway!]

It's hard to believe that June has come and gone. Now that July is here, we are in the full swing of summer.

Up here in Canada, July 1 marks the day the British North American Act created the Canadian Federal Government way back in 1867. Or, more familiarly, July 1 is Canada Day - a day Canadians across the country and around the world show their pride in their history, culture and achievements.

While we don't have any specific traditions for the long week, in the past it has meant time spent with family at the cottage, ooing and awing over the floats in a local parade, enjoying a backyard bbq and often ending the night with a bang by watching a fireworks show. This year, we will be spending the little lady's first Canada Day celebrating with my husband and sister in Edmonton, Alberta. I look forward to decking the little lady out in red and white, and enjoying the sunny summer's day with my family.

Whether you celebrate Canada Day, Independence Day or just love summer, the first weekend in July is the perfect excuse to get outside and make the most of your summer.

Today, To & Fro's Big City sponsors are sharing their July long weekend plans and traditions.

How will you be celebrating the July holiday long weekend?  Do you have any big plans or traditions?

How will you be celebrating the July holiday long weekend?  Do you have any big plans or traditions? Ah well I’m in the UK so we don’t have a long weekend in July. But we do have out baby girl’s first birthday coming up this July so we’re having a hot tub pool party with our family & friends!

Route Bliss
How will you be celebrating the July holiday long weekend?  Do you have any big plans or traditions? Honestly, I have no plans whatsoever for the holiday weekend as of right now. I'm buried alive so to speak at work right now (especially due to a coworker being in Florida for two weeks), so I anticipate sleeping in and doing as little as possible beyond eating some BBQ and watching a few fireworks in order to recoop energy-wise from all the go go go that work has been lately!

How will you be celebrating the July holiday long weekend?  Do you have any big plans or traditions? Since my parents moved into their house 20 years ago, they have always had a big fourth of July party. They have a house that overlooks the lake where they do the big fireworks each year, so they really have the best seat in town! My husband, bulldog, and I always pack up and head there to spend the entire day :)

How will you be celebrating the July holiday long weekend?  Do you have any big plans or traditions? My 4th of July usually includes a lot of eating and of course, watching fireworks! It’s usually pretty low-key overall, but it’s always so nice to have an extra long weekend!
