Started from the bottom...

We started from the bottom...

And 20:07 minutes later, I was here...

Ok, so maybe more like an hour. None the less, it was well deserved.

A few weeks ago, my brother, sister in law and I took part in the World Wildlife Fund's CN Tower Stair Climb. Impressively, we all did it under 30 minutes... all 1446 stairs. Trust me, it wasn't as bad as it sounds. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we'll probably be doing it again next year.  And I will be challenging myself to do it in under 20 minutes next time (if only I had a stopwatch with me...).

Thank you to everyone who supported me during my fundraising efforts and climb! Together the 4000 climbers that participated raised over $1,000,000 to help protect species at risk and the places they call home.

Would you take on this challenge?

  1. This is amazing! I remember when Kelly Ripa did the climb of the empire state building. While I would probably have to do some training, it actually sounds like a lot of fun. Much more fun than just a regular running race. And that's wonderful that you were able to raise so much money!!

    1. Thanks! Training wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It helped that we lived on the 42nd floor of a 48 story building though.

  2. I would definitely take the challenge! That seems fun and supports a great cause, as well as a great butt workout. But dang, 1446 is intimidating for sure.

    1. It surprisingly went by very quickly. The key was not to count how many floors. And yes, it was a very good butt workout!

  4. I probably would not partake in this challenge but believe me when I say I'd be at the top holding a drink for my friends! haha. Good for you for getting up those 1446 stairs! Do you think it'll be hard to drop your time to sub-20 minutes? I feel like because so many people participate it would be difficult to climb too fast with everyone around you.

    1. Thank you! I thought it was going to be a lot more crowded. There were a few times when I had to slow down to pass, which probably lost me the 7 seconds, but I was able to do a lot quicker than I thought I would. I wish I had of remembered a watch so I could have pushed myself a little harder to make it under 20.
