Waimea Canyon, Kauai

Waimea Canyon on Kauai's west side is often called the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific".  And grand it is.  Stretching 14 miles long, 1 mile wide and 3600 feet deep, this wonder provides breathtaking views of the Garden Island. And not to mention, fabulous hiking trails.

But before heading to the canyon, we obviously had to make a pitstop at Kauai Coffee and sample the goods. Too much caffeine and $80 in the gift shop later, we were on our way to Waimea...

We stopped at the look out point to take in the view of the canyon from 3200 feet above sea level.  Believe it or not, the chickens also live at 3200 feet above.

We also took a breathtaking hike along the canyon and stumbled across a small waterfall where we were able to cool off.

Oh ya, the sunset on the drive home wasn't too bad either...
